An Invitation to Transform: Climate Change and Matriarchal Leadership

About this event

Join us online for this informative event on Thursday, December 2 from 12:00pm-1:15pm to learn more about the online learning platform: Deyen: An Invitation to Transform and to hear from our Special Guest Speaker Yukon Regional Chief Kluane Adamak as she speaks on her recent acclamation to her second term as Regional Chief in the Yukon plus climate change in the North/Yukon, and Matriarch Leadership.

(Deyen* is the Tsilhqot’in word for “Person with the power to transform”)

Deyen was created to share knowledge, worldviews, wisdom, and lived experiences of Indigenous women on the lands often called Canada.

This event will be hosted by Chastity Davis-Alphonse (Tla’ammin Nation) and TV Personality Tamara Taggart.

Deyen – An Invitation to Transform, the online learning hub is the vision of Chastity Davis-Alphonse, a mixed-heritage Indigenous woman activist, advocate, and Reconciliation Practitioner. Chastity has dedicated her personal and professional life contributing to the reconciliation movement primarily through her consulting business, Chastity Davis Consulting.

The first online training program through Deyen is called: “Canadian History Through the Lens of Indigenous Women”. Chastity with her team (Capilano University, Mitacs, Indigenext, Spiro Creative, Dave Ogilvie, Andrew Dexel, and many others) have created this first set of learning modules to share the wisdom, worldview, knowledge, and lived experiences of Indigenous women with all Canadians who would like the opportunity to learn and unlearn.

Deyen is a powerful invitation to transform by learning from the original Matriarch’s of these lands often referred to as Canada. Please consider accepting this invitation and join us for this transformative 75-minute online event.
