Caring for Manitoba’s Wildlife: How to be a Good Neighbour in Nature

Do you know how to be a good neighbour to wildlife in Manitoba?

About this event

— Caring for Manitoba’s Wildlife: How to be a Good Neighbour in Nature —

Join CPAWS Manitoba for a wildlife webinar with Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre!

Education Program Manager Amy Wilke will discuss Wildlife Haven’s most common winter patients, what to do if you find one of these wild animals, and why interfering isn’t always the answer. She’ll also discuss what exactly wildlife rehabilitation entails and all of the great work being done at the Centre.

There will also be special guest appearances by some of their non-releasable wildlife ambassadors!

–About Wildlife Haven–

Wildlife Haven Rehabilitation Centre has been rehabilitating injured, sick, and orphaned wildlife for their return to the wild since 1984. They have cared for over 44,000 wildlife that play a vital role in the ecological and biological processes that are essential to life itself.

In 2021, they opened Manitoba’s first Wildlife Veterinary Hospital. Fully equipped with a full-time licensed veterinarian, diagnostic equipment, and an operating room to provide emergency care, Wildlife Haven offers procedures and surgeries for sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife from all over Manitoba.

About CPAWS Manitoba:

CPAWS Manitoba has been instrumental in establishing 22 new parks and protected areas in our province. That’s an area larger than Lake Winnipeg at nearly 26,000 square kilometres. Our goal is to protect half of Manitoba’s lands and waters.

–Lunch and Learns–

Nature has been here for us during the pandemic.

CPAWS Manitoba wants to maintain this positive connection to nature by providing a space for Manitobans to connect online from the safety of our homes and be inspired by nature in our backyards and beyond.

Join CPAWS Manitoba for weekly lunch and learn presentations from experts across the province who will share their knowledge and passion and bring new nature-inspired activities into our lives.

*** This program is possible thanks to the generous support of The Winnipeg Foundation and the Conservation Trust, a Manitoba Climate and Green Plan Initiative delivered by the Manitoba Habitat Heritage Corporation. ***
