Paddle for Nature

Paddle for Nature

Up for a challenge? Join us in a Paddle for Nature!

The Nature Conservancy of Canada’s (NCC’s) Manitoba Region is inviting you to participate in our second annual Paddle for Nature challenge!

When we lose nature, we also lose the benefits that it provides to people. These benefits range from carbon storage to the health benefits of spending time in nature. While reversing the loss of biodiversity remains core to NCC’s mission, we know that to accelerate our efforts we need all of society to play a role.

This is why we’re inviting you to be an invaluable participant in the second annual Paddle for Nature challenge!

What is the Paddle for Nature?

This is your chance to create your own paddling adventure, all while raising funds for nature — right here in Manitoba.

You choose the location! You choose the vessel! You choose your team!

Be part of NCC’s Paddle for Nature event by registering individually or as a team and commit to a personal paddling challenge (whether kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding) and raise funds for nature right here in Manitoba.

When: Anytime from August 26 to 28, 2022. You have three days to reach your personal/team goal.

Where: Choose your favourite body of water while tracking your kilometres paddled.

Who: Everyone is welcome! Encourage your family, friends and colleagues to join a team and support your paddling challenge.

Registration fee: $50 per participant

*new* Early-bird fee (register by August 4 ): $40 per participant

*new* Youth (ages 17 and under): $25 per participant

Together, we can make a difference by raising funds for people and nature. Because when nature thrives, we thrive.

How does it work?

Step 1: Set your goals. How many kilometres do you want to paddle? How much do you want to raise?

Step 2: Register for the event — $25 (Youth) / $40 (Early Bird – before Aug. 4) / $50 (Standard).

Step 3: Set up your page as an individual, team captain or member of your team.

Step 4: Connect with your peers by telling them why you’re participating in this challenge. What is your inspiration? Why is conserving nature important to you, your family and friends? Encourage them to participate or support your challenge!

Step 5: August 26 – 28, grab your hat, your sunscreen and of course your paddle and hit your water body of choice! Keep track of your kilometres paddled (here’s some helpful hints on how to do that), and let us know the number at the conclusion of the event.

Step 6:  Be sure to keep us posted on how you’re doing throughout the weekend using the hashtag #paddlefornature and tag @NCC_CNC
