People with Disabilities are a diverse population that have often been overlooked in park planning. Research in this area has not supported the development of robust strategies to promote accessibility and inclusion in parks. The Providing Accessible ReCreation Outdoors: User-driven Research on Standards (PARCOURS) is a research project generously funded by Accessibility Standards Canada to inform accessibility standards in Canada’s national parks. Results from this study and previous research have helped to shape the Journey Experience Model for Accessibility (JEMMA) that we hope to discuss in this webinar.
