Rob will take you on a visual presentation of all Eleven (11) owl species of Alberta, talking about their habitat and their vociferous callings, not to mention their great looks.
From locations such as your city park to remote Alberta forests, Rob will guide you on his adventures of trying to find some of earth’s most mystical animals.
From 5.5” to 33” tall, you will learn what it’s like to find these majestic animals to how each owl species learns to survive in Alberta, whether it be a full-time Alberta Resident 365 days a year or just a part-time resident, late spring to early fall.

I have lived in Calgary for over 45 years and I have been involved with the Photographic Community in Calgary for 39 of those years. I have a background in Photography and studied at the Alberta College of Art and Design.
My love for the outdoors and being a wildlife advocate, made a Commercial Photographer turn into a Master Wildlife & Travel/Nature Photographer. Being a photographer makes being in nature all that more enjoyable. Having an appreciation for nature allows me to find & protect animals in their natural habitat. In my work, I try to capture the spirit of the animal in which represents their individual personalities. My specialty is Carnivorous Mammals & Raptors, but I am always out and about, on the scout for something wildlife in nature. My recent project is the following and studies of the Great Gray Owl & Northern Hawk Owls. I am continuing to grow my portfolio enjoying life one day at a time.
Myself and my two sidekicks, IB (Miata) and her younger sibling, Wolverine (Jeep), can often be seen scoring the countryside of North America looking for critters or that perfect nature shot. Places such as Moab, Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, The Grand Tetons, Banff, & Jasper to name a few adventures. Not to mention if there’s a good unique craft beer pub in the destination, makes it all that more of an adventure as well.
My passion is photography and I love to teach and lecture about photography. Often leading workshops in the great outdoors, watching people enjoy similar adventures to myself. People that know me always hear me complain about the cold, TRUE!! Always looking for that out to the Caribbean to more nature photos not to mention sun & warmth. However, some of my best work is done in the winter wonderland known as Calgary, Alberta.
