Virtual Getting Little Feet Wet Workshop

Join Zoe and Leah online for Getting Little Feet Wet, a professional development outdoor learning workshop for early childhood educators, on March 22 from 7-9pm.

Developed specifically for teachers working with young children (ages 3-6) and in coordination with early childhood experts and educators, Getting Little Feet Wet is Project WET’s early childhood curriculum.

Getting Little Feet Wet contains 11 interactive, hands-on activities for young learners to explore different aspects of water—from water properties to water sounds. Each activity offers both Pre-K and K-2 options and is correlated to respective educational standards. Getting Little Feet Wet is available both as a digital and printed book.

Cost: $35/SaskOutdoors members and $40 for Non-members.

About your instructors:

Zoe Arnold grew up on Treaty 6 territory in Saskatoon. She can usually be found outdoors in all seasons enjoying gardening, hiking, and cross country skiing. She especially loves winter and spending time out in the snow! Her professional experience and passion lies in play-based education and outdoor experiential learning. She works as the Lead Educator with Wildernook Fresh Air Learning in Saskatoon. She holds an honours degree in Biology from the U of S, a B.Ed. from Queen’s University, and a certificate in Forest School Education (UK). Zoe has previously worked with organizations specializing in conservation, urban agriculture, outdoor education, and environmental initiatives.

Leah Japp, General Manager of Sask Outdoors, is on her mission to create a province where every person can experience a deep connection with nature, where people play and learn outdoors, and live in harmony with their natural surroundings.Leah lives on an small farm near Bethune with her husband and three children. Leah has a background and training in outdoor and environmental education. Her family enjoys country life, camping, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, geocaching, canoeing, gardening, running, climbing snow hills, skating, tobogganing, playgrounds and swimming.
