Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Director, Human Resources (Director) works closely with DUC’s Executive Management team and is the staff liaison for the Board Personnel Policy Committee, initiating and leading human resources best practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that promotes accountability and integrity, respectful communication, creativity and innovation, excellent customer service, flexibility, initiative, sound judgment and decision-making as well as teamwork and cooperation competencies.

The Director acts as a resource to all levels of management and Board. They are a strategic partner and a change agent guiding the HR team to provide a full range of services to all of the business units, championing strategic human resources excellence throughout the organization.

Leading a team of seven, the Director leads all aspects of the Human Resources function, including employee relations, performance management, job classification and evaluation, training and development, staffing and recruitment, employment equity, contract administration, health and safety, workforce realignment and re-deployment, and compensation and benefits.

The location for this position is flexible in either Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, Winnipeg, or Vancouver. Some travel will be required.
