Job Description

As a key member of the Marketing team, the Manager, Marketing & Communications will report to the VP, Marketing & Sales and develop annual plans & tactics, set priorities, deliver on ambitious revenue & conversion goals and launch new products to market. They will coach a world class team and refine processes & technology to help the team scale. The incumbent will lead advertising, revenue generating campaigns, brand development and digital marketing channels with accountabilities for all digital performance marketing channels, including website refinement, SEO, social media, display advertising, retargeting with a focus on analytics and insights. This role requires someone who can delegate, “roll up their sleeves” when needed, is a skilled and engaging communicator who values collaboration and has a proven track record of growing audiences in a digital environment.

Responsibilities

Develops, presents and manages the annual marketing plan – including the tracking and reporting of budgets and key initiatives
Establishes positioning, identifies target personas, develops outreach strategies, oversees branding, advertising and promotional campaigns
Leads the execution of marketing programs and projects – driving collaboration with the stakeholders and optimizing processes where possible
Develops best in class go to market plans for new product launches
Builds strategic relationships with partners, vendors and agencies to deliver world class outputs
Develops and executes multi-channel campaigns (organic & paid) across the customer lifecycle aligning communications and messaging that drives SQLs and meets revenue objectives
Produces valuable and engaging content for our website and blog that attracts and converts
Creates, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights for future campaign development and go-to-market strategies. Prepares & presents this analysis on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Oversees direct reports – provides mentorship, coaching & OKR management
Qualifications and Education

3+ years of marketing experience in a leadership capacity
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Communications or Marketing. MBA is a plus
Bilingual in English and French considered an asset

Humility and open leadership style that allows space for others to bring their skills to bear
Proven ability to articulate vision and strategy in a way that inspires and motivates the team
Comfortable working with numbers and making sense of metrics and data
Able to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes
Expertise in the marketing stack – strategic planning, OKR’s, marketing, media content & brand
High literacy and capability with the latest trends/best practices in multi-channel marketing
Expert with WordPress, ACT-ON, Google Adwords/Analytics, Data Studio and SiteImprove
Expert in developing engaging advertising, storytelling and integrated marketing programs
Committed to fostering a culture of innovation and experimentation to create value
A default to curiosity, creativity and thinking outside the box to solve challenges

 

This role is a full-time position, with a three-month probationary period upon start date, and the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement (minimum 3 days per week at the Calgary office and the option to work remotely for the remaining 2).
