To provide technical advisory services pertaining to the information and data collected, stored, managed, analyzed, and used by staff and clients of the Ecosystems Information Section in support of Natural Resource Sector decision-making.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a natural resource management field (e.g., biology, forestry, geography, environmental science) and 1 year of *recent (within the last 5 years), related experience; OR
Diploma in a natural resource management field (e.g., biology, forestry, geography, environmental science) and 2 years of recent, related experience*.
*Recent (within the last 5 years), related experience includes each of the following:
- Experience working with complex species and ecosystems data and related information in support of resource management.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and ArcGIS to capture, manage and analyze data and information.
- Experience in the development, maintenance and delivery of data management policies, procedures, systems and/or standards.
- Experience in client support, providing technical training, extension and/or outreach.
Preference may be given to applicants with the following:
- Experience working with and applying BC species and ecosystems-related data.
- Experience working with programming and scripting languages (e.g., FME, SQL, R, Python) for the purposes of data management and scientific communication.
- Experience with the design, development and/or maintenance of client focussed applications and tools.
- Experience developing web maps and applications using ArcGIS Online (e.g., story Maps, Dashboards, Suvery123, Collector, Web AppBuilder) or other similar software.
