The Role

This position is a split position between the OBC Training Academy (70%) and OBC Core Programming (30%).

OBC Training Academy

The Training Academy will recruit and train a new generation of outdoor leaders in Atlantic Canada. For more information, please click here. Working closely with the Academy Leadership Team, the Atlantic Training and Program Manager will be the primary leader for the Training Academy in Atlantic Canada in terms of trainee recruitment, staff management, and training program delivery.  The Atlantic Training and Program Manager will oversee all classroom and expedition-based Training Academy events including: employee management, program site areas and facilities, logistics, risk oversight, supervision and evaluation. Expedition training programs will be primarily focused on sea kayaking, and may also include hiking, canoeing, and/or snowshoeing.

 

OBC Core Programming

OBC will deliver a small number of core expedition programs in Atlantic Canada (estimated to be 2-5 expeditions in 2023). Most expeditions will be sea kayaking, with the potential for backpacking, canoe, or winter/snowshoeing trips. The Atlantic Training and Program Manager will oversee the staffing, program planning/logistics, risk oversight, and supervision of these programs.
