Boundary Spanning: A leadership practice that links people and knowledge across sectors (Williams, 2002).
Collaboration: “an evolving process whereby two or more social entities actively and reciprocally engage in joint activities aimed at achieving at least one shared goal” (Poirier et al, 2016, p. 130).
Ethical space: Parallel systems of Indigenous and non-Indigenous knowledge systems, and engagement between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples.
Innovation: Innovation is “the process of improving, adapting or developing a product, system, or service to deliver better results and create value for people” (Partnership for Public Service & IDEO, 2011, p. 6).
Networks: are organic structures that are relationship-based, linking relatively autonomous actors who work in concert to achieve shared goals, or pursue individual goals within a shared system (Malinsky & Lubelsky, 2010).
Social Capital: “the sum of the actual and potential resources embedded within, available through, and derived from the network of relationships possessed by an individual or social unit” (Nahapiet & Ghoshal, 1998, p. 243),
(2) ecosystem services provide services that benefit humans (such as clean air and water)
(3) includes the entire protected areas portfolio (incl. OECMs)
(1) Emerging issues (new issues being identified and not yet being addressed) and horizon issues (issues that may have impacts in 5 to 10 years) are issues that could potentially have a significant impact on the ecosystems and species we manage.
