Don combines professional and academic perspectives to generate inclusion and collaboration in parks across Canada. Over 26 years as a provincial park educator, program designer, and team lead—including as land manager of two of Canada’s largest urban parks—he completed a Master’s degree on the inclusion of persons with disabilities in parks and a PhD in interdisciplinary studies on wellbeing and the role of parks in the Anthropocene. Don has moved on to a post-doctoral fellowship in environmental sustainability and leads a pan-Canadian collaboration focused on leadership development in parks and protected areas. He has free-range kids and chickens.
